It is no secret that kitchen towels are hard to keep clean, but even harder to wash out their stains. Stains from coffee, tea, oil, tomatoes, berries, wine, juice, almost impossible to remove if not washed off them immediately. But do we always have to have such an opportunity? And I was going to switch to paper towels until completely accidentally learned stunning in its simplicity and effectiveness way to clean washing cotton and linen kitchen towels.
So: boil a bucket of water, pour in boiling water 2 tablespoons of dry bleach (sold in stores), a partial Cup of washing powder and pour… and 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil. This hot cocktail to put dry (it was dry and not pre-soaked and washed), dirty towels and leave in the bucket until cool. The only thing left to rinse.
I can not judge what happens to towels in the cooling water without washing and boiling, what chemical processes occur there, but after such a procedure on the towels isn’t even a speck - not to mention tea, coffee, grease stains and tomato paste. I use this method a year and a half and didn’t notice that the towels somehow wear out faster.
